Washington has never stopped abusing national and political power to repress law-abiding Chinese tech companies. Although Washington has failed to give any credible evidence to support its claim that Huawei poses a security threat, it has spent months piling pressure on other countries to exclude the Chinese tech giant from their 5G networks. More recently, the White House threatened to ban outright TikTok, a hugely popular video-sharing app worldwide.
Washington has never stopped launching disinformation and defamation campaigns against China. Certain political leaders in recent days spared no efforts to stigmatize China over the coronavirus, which has drawn strong worldwide condemnation. More ridiculously, the U.S. embassy and consulates in China last month retweeted an apparently photoshopped picture uploaded by the spokesperson of the State Department, trying to cook up a story about China's human rights violation in Xinjiang.
"The U.S. move to turn China into an adversary is a fundamental, strategic miscalculation. It means that the United States is funneling its strategic resources in the wrong area," he said.
"The history of China-U.S. relations over the past 41 years teaches a lot," he said, adding that the valuable experiences have proved effective in the past and remain effective now and will continue to be effective in the future. Enditem
The Egyptian Communist Party supports China's rights in safeguarding sovereignty, security and its development interest, and believes that any attempt to sow dissension between the CPC and the Chinese people is doomed to fail, it said.
China is ready to make cool-headed and sensible response to the impulsive moves and anxiety of the U.S. side, said Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi in a recent interview with Xinhua.
China and the United States must always bear in mind the well-being of mankind, live up to their responsibilities as two major countries, coordinate and cooperate as needed in the UN and other multilateral institutions, and work together for world peace and stability, said Wang. ■
WASHINGTON, Aug. 10 (Xinhua) -- The United States has to be aware that there is "a rising anger" among the Chinese public over Washington's hostile moves against China, Chinese Ambassador to the United States Cui Tiankai has said.
"China's door to dialogue remains open. We are willing, in the spirit of equality and open-mindedness, to talk and interact with the United States, and resume dialogue mechanisms at all levels and in all fields," said Wang. ■
"The Chinese people are also very much shocked. They feel very disappointed about what is happening in this country towards China," said Cui. "There's a rising anger among the Chinese public."
U.S. arms sales to Taiwan seriously breach the three China-U.S. joint communiques, especially the August 17 Communique, severely undermine China's sovereignty and security interests, and gravely violate basic norms of international relations, said Wang. "China firmly opposes this."
